Triphids is a tube-shooter along the lines of arcade classics like Gyruss and Tempest: you maneuver around a circle and harvest patterned waves of enemies for points, and they attempt to blow you to smithereens with their projectiles so they can harvest the solar system for some grim unknown purpose. As you progress, you gather weapon upgrades and ship restoration capsules to help you on your way. When fully cooled, the Wyndham's reactor is capable of reversing the polarity on Triphid weapons fire: leaving the Wyndham unscathed and giving the Triphids a taste of their own medicine.
